Knowing I live in rural France and seeing the title of this post
I expect you were wondering what this post was going to be about ?
I'd just popped into the nearby village to post a letter
and where I usually park the car there was a Camel grazing on the grass.
Not an everyday scene. I wondered what was going on.
But then I remembered I'd seen some posters
advertising the Circus, but as my grandsons are now young men
I hadn't really taken much notice of when or where it would be.
Usually it's during the summer months that
'The Circus Comes to Town ' but as it's a festive time
the circus must have been touring the smaller towns .
I'm so glad I had my camera in the car.
I was able to wander about and take photos.
I'm sorry there aren't any clowns or acrobats practicing
their acts, for you to see. This circus is more like a zoo.
But it's not everyday you get to see Camels in the car park. Is It ?
I'll be back in my garden again soon.
I need to get the climbing roses planted.
à bientôt
Barbara Lilian
More a zoo than a circus:)
ReplyDeleteWe don't have animals in circuses in the UK nowadays. It's all clowns and trapeze.
What fun to happen upon . . .
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your "circus/zoo" animal pictures . . .
Thanks for your comment on my Irish Garden House . . .
DeleteI thought the same, I should paint a Pansy . . . such a happy flower!
Nice shots of the beautiful animals. I have such mixed emotions about the circus animals these days. I love the thrill of seeing them but feel so sorry for the life they must live mostly caged up and on view.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, how fun that you got to see the circus animals in your neighborhood. That camel is delightful! I have always loved the circus and took the kids to it once when they were very little. These are great pictures, and it must have been a sight to see them around your neck of the woods. So glad you had your camera. I try to take mine everywhere I go. Oh, I wanted to tell you that the photo on my Header are of red roses that I bought for Easter. It's funny because at a different angle, they kind of look like pink, but they are actually red. I hope you had a nice Easter, Barbara.

The camel looks like he/she is enjoying the sunshine and free lunch.
ReplyDeleteHow great to happen upon the unusual.
Aren't small towns wonderful? I love that the circus animals are getting a bit of green grass and sunshine and also giving the townspeople something fun to enjoy! We have a small carnival that comes to our little town every summer - I have a few of the posters from years ago that I took off the telephone poles after they left town. I hope you are enjoying some nice spring weather! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteDear Barbara - I am so glad you shared this circus with me. What fun! Makes me think you are wise carrying your camera with you because you never know what delight you might find. E mailed you and hopped over here to visit and I found your subscribe button - so have just been missing it when I visited before. Hooray - will know when you have a new post. Have a super day. Hugs
ReplyDeleteBarbara, thank you for commenting on my daughter's posts as well as mine. Yes, I see all of the comments coming through, and it always warms my heart when I see my friend from France's popping up.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know that I put you on our side bar as "lovely blogs.." I really enjoy your blog. You have a variety of things on here, and that's what makes a special blog.
Have a beautiful week, Barbara.

Good Evening Barbara, How brilliant. There you were, going into the village to post a letter and you come across camels.... not something you see everyday... but I bet they made you smile.
ReplyDeleteThe only time I have ever seen a camel was in Tunisa.... my memory is that they spit a lot!
It is late, so you are probably fast asleep... I'm not sure if you are 1 or 2 hours ahead of us.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Never know what a day will bring, do you ? Camels grazing in the parking area, good thing you had your camera !
ReplyDeleteOh how much fun is that! I especially love the sweet little goat. I have a thing for goats lately. Seattle rents goats to clear hillsides and properties of weeds, blackberries, etc. They really go to town. I am thinking of renting a goat or two to rid the black berries from some of my acreage. Love your header too.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a sight! Surprising, I'm sure, to suddenly see these new visitors in your neck of the woods, so unexpectedly! Wonderful pics!

Barbara, How exciting to stumble upon this unexpected vision!!! I just love serendipity!! They are very cute, these guys.
ReplyDeleteHow very exciting Barbara Lilian - your photos are wonderful and I see the weather is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've been to the circus in France when it came to the nearby town, my GD's were only little so it was a huge occasion!
I wonder what roses you're planting this year?
Hugs
